Our roaster

TERRA KAHWA® is offering you the opportunity to home roast your green coffee.

This new method of preparing coffee has several advantages:

  • The coffee you drink is always fresh. Coffee bought in supermarkets are roasted and ground several months before and although they are vacuum-packed, they have lost more than 40% of their flavours.
  • Since green beans can be stored without losing their flavour, you can buy your coffee in larger quantities (5 kg in jute bags) and save the earth from 20 aluminium packets.
  • You can roast your coffee to your taste.
  • Lastly, you can enjoy all the flavours that are released during roasting.

For this, we have developed a simple home roaster.

The TERRA KAHWA® roaster processes 250 g of green beans per operation, i.e. about 15 medium-sized cups.

It has nine roasting programmes (time and temperature).

Depending on the time chosen, the beans will be brown, light brown, dark brown or very dark (black beans = burnt beans).

  • The roasting process begins with the heating of the green beans at 160°C.
  • After a few minutes, the temperature reaches 200°C and the aromas begin to fill the air...
  • Roasting is completed at a temperature of 210-240°C.
  • To stop roasting, the TERRA KAHWA® roaster goes automatically into the cooling phase at the end of the programme.

Leave the roasted beans to rest for one hour before grinding them (this operation is optional).

Clean the roaster filter which will contain thin silver skin or spermoderm.
